The Boarding School Teaching Residency (BSTR) takes advantage of the unique resources available at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE) as well as those within the consortium of boarding schools. Classes are led by faculty members from Penn GSE and of all partnering institutions, and delivered in a host of settings, allowing for a balanced integration of theory and practice.

Each BSTR fellow is also paired with a specific mentor at his or her host school. Mentors are senior faculty at the respective institutions and represent an invaluable resource to the fellows and program alike. They guide the mentee through the two years, playing an active role in the personal and professional development of each fellow both as a teacher and an individual.
